The Mt, closing to the middle of part of the Lou Xiao Shan range in Hunan, is located in the west of Jiangxi province. Around the Ci Ping town, there are more than 500 peaks with the elevations from 366 to 1841 meters.

The Jing Gang Mt bearing many basins is very high and precipitous in appearance. In central subtropical zone, there are plenty of biological resources in the Mt. Its plants cover reaches to the rate of 73%. 39 species of rare plants are on the brick of extinction and protected by the state. In additional, a great deal rushing waterfalls, flowing springs, clean steams are in sight.

Here, with 270 scenic spots divided into 8 districts is well known for its summer resort. As far as Ci Ping, owing to being sited in the Jing Gang Mt, has become a famous town for travelers. Apart from its beauty, the Jing Gang Mt has taken an important part in the history of China. After suffering a string of defeats in an urban-based revolution in the cities, Mao Ze Dong led a core of 100 men into these hills in 1927 and set up the first countryside base area. They were soon joined by another Communist Army led by Zhu De, and then, more troops did the same as well, for instance, Peng De Huai's troops.

At the mountain, you will see the Huangyangjie, one of the 5 most important posts of the Mt, where the Communist Army, formally named Red Army have resisted an enemy outnumbering them twenty to one.
