Hongkong Province - Sha Tin Dau Fong San

The Sha Tin Dau Fong San is a sacred place of Christanity. Proceding from the Sha Tin Railway Station while closing the Pai Tau Tsun (village), a huge Cross erected high above the hill top is visible.

Dau Fong literally means "Gods' Words" the divine rustling wind bestows bounties to the Earth. On the hill is a stretch of Christian woods among which stands the Church as the main object. Designed by a Danish architect. Eward by name, it was built in 1931, modelled on the structure of Chinese monastery. It stands two-storied high in the shape of an octagon roofed with glazed tiles and upturned eaves; its columns are attractively decorated with an air of great antiquity. It is known as Holy Hall. On its wall is inlaid a horizontal inscribed board on which was written "the Attainment of faith. Incarnation" There hangs a bronze bell outside the hall on which are inscribed "Glory to God"

The cross on the Hill is the biggest one throughout Hong Kong, about 40 feet high, on it "Well Done" are carved, which reminds the ordinary people that the efforts by Jesus Christ to save the world have been accomplished.
